Runners who have participated in the Cayman Islands Marathon for 3 consecutive years qualify to receive a special rate in the 4th year when registering for the event. This rate cannot be taken advantage of online after 31 August so registrants will have to come in to the Kelly Holding office* to receive the special rate. This offer applies to half and full marathoners only. The rate for eligible participants is CI$72/US$90 for the full marathon and CI$48/US$60 for the half marathon.
*Please note that only cash or cheque is accepted in the marathon office up until November.
Your run will take you along the waterfront of George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands, into the residential area of South Sound, which boasts multi-million dollar homes and dazzling views of the ocean, and then into the financial district and along the waterfront once again.
Water/Aid stations will be placed every mile of the race and water and Gatorade will be provided at each station. First Aid stations will be located every two miles on the course, and medic stations will be at the Start/Finish line and at the 7 and 20 mile markers. Medical personnel will also be present at several of the stations, start line and finish area and the Cayman Islands National Red Cross will ensure that all runners are provided with quality first aid care. In addition, there will be portable toilets or bathroom access approximately every mile along the course.
The course is open for six (6) hours to accommodate the full marathoners. As a result half-marathoners can WALK the course if they choose to. Runners who are unable to complete the race within this time will not be guaranteed an official race result and will be picked up along the course and brought back to the Start/Finish Line.
The Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon is a chip-timed event. We use the MyLaps timing system. All participants will receive a chip/transponder in their bibs when they pick up their packets on Saturday, 7 December, at the Westin.
Race results are updated and posted throughout the event, and the complete results are available immediately at the conclusion of the event. Split timing is also done at the turnaround point.
All runners who complete their race will receive a commemorative finishers medal. In addition awards are given to the top 3 males and females overall in the Marathon and Half Marathon and the top three teams in 5 different relay divisions: Men's, Women's, Open Mixed, Corporate and the CUC High School Challenge. Awards are also given to the top three male and female in the following age categories:
50 to 59
60 and over
Please note that if a runner wins an overall award, he/she is ineligible for an age category award.
There are no refunds or transfers of registration to other runners. ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. In addition, you cannot transfer your registration from a half or full to a team relay or from a team relay to a full or half marathon. However, registrations can be deferred for ONE YEAR at a cost of US$20. To do this, log back into the registration page and choose DEFERRAL ONLY.
If you have to cancel your registration, you can do so by emailing info@CaymanIslandsMarathon.com.
