There is complimentary and continuous shuttle service to and from the start line on race day starting at 4am. These buses will run from FOUR hotels: the Kimpton Seafire Resort, Westin Resort (official hotel), Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman and Marriott Beach Resort. The service continues until approximately 12 noon. Both local and visiting runners staying/living in the Seven Mile Beach area can use the shuttles. Supporters can also use the buses to ride to the finish line but please give preference to runners.
Your run will take you along the waterfront of George Town, the capital of the Cayman Islands, in the residential area of South Sound which boasts multi-million dollar homes and dazzling views of the ocean, and then into the financial district and along the waterfront once again.
Please note that NO coaches, skateboards, baby joggers, bikes, dogs, support vehicles or inline skates will be allowed on the course.
Water/Aid Stations will be placed every mile of the race and water and Gatorade will be provided at each station. First Aid stations will be located every two miles on the course and medic stations will be at the Start/Finish line and at the 7 and 20 mile markers. Medical personnel will also be present at several of the stations, the start line and finish area, and the Cayman Islands National Red Cross will ensure that runners are provided with quality First Aid care. In addition, there will be portable toilets or bathroom access approximately every mile along the course.
The course is open for six (6) hours. Teams who are unable to complete the race within this time will not be guaranteed an official race result, and will be picked up along the course and brought back to the Start/Finish Line.
The Intertrust Cayman Islands Marathon is a chip-timed event. We use the MyLaps timing system. Each team will receive a timing chip belt when they pick up their packets on Saturday, 7 December between 9am and 3pm at the Westin.
Race results are updated and posted throughout the event, and the complete results are available immediately at the conclusion of the race. Split timing is also done at the turnaround point.
All runners who complete their race will receive a commemorative finishers medal. For the teams, the person who runs the last leg of the relay will receive four medals to distribute to his/her team members. In addition awards are given to the top 3 males and females overall in the Marathon and Half Marathon and the top three teams in the 5 different relay divisions: Men's, Women's, Open Mixed, Corporate and the CUC High School Challenge. Awards are also given to the top three male and female in the following age categories:
To register a team, the Team Captains must first create the team and pay for the registration. Then individual team members can log on and register themselves for free.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TEAM MUST CONSIST OF FOUR PEOPLE. One person cannot run two legs. However, a registered half or full marathoner could run the first leg of the relay if he/she wanted to. In addition, the relay CANNOT BE WALKED ENTIRELY.
Members of the CUC High School Challenge teams do not have to attend the same school. In addition, the route, rules and requirements for the CUC High School Challenge are the same as the 4-person relay.
Looking for Teammate(s)?
Are you interested in running the team relay but you can't find any teammmates? We can help you find a teammate. Just pop us an email at info@CaymanIslandsMarathon.com and someone will contact you. We cannot guarantee we'll find you a team but we will do our very best!
Teams can be co-ed. Each team member will run approximately 6.5 miles each. The team member running the first leg of the relay will need to be at the Start/Finish line by 4:45 am at the latest. We will provide shuttles at hand off points if all members of a team wish to arrive together.
Each relay team will receive ONE timing chip belt and it is to be shared by each runner on the team. The belt must be worn in order to register the time and must be passed off to the next runner at each hand off point in order to get your team's correct time.
Bibs should be worn on the front of your shirt and must be visible at all times during the race. Each member has his/her own bib but the team shares one number.
The last person in the relay team will receive FOUR medals for the team and can then distribute them to the other members of the team.
Please do not park anywhere along the route.
There are no refunds or transfers of registration to other runners. ALL REGISTRATIONS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE. In addition, you cannot transfer your registration from a half or full to a team relay or from a team relay to a full or half marathon.
If you have to cancel your registration, you can do so by emailing info@CaymanIslandsMarathon.com.
